Innovative Composite Scaffolds Accelerate Bone Regeneration
A recent study has developed a novel composite aerogel scaffold designed to enhance bone regeneration in cases of bone defects. Combining electrospun poly(lactic acid)/gelatin fibers with silica-strontium oxide (SiO2-SrO) nanofibers, this innovative scaffold offers an optimal porous structure and sustained ion release, promoting both osteogenesis and angiogenesis. The scaffold's superior biocompatibility and mechanical properties were demonstrated through in vitro and in vivo tests, marking a significant step forward in bone tissue engineering.
